A sprawling family-run adventure park could open next year in the southwest of England.A couple submitted plans to transform their farmland into an adventure park with wakeboarding, open water swimming and a water park on the Devon-Cornwall border.
On Polson Park's website, the future name of the development, Mel and Ed shared that they dream to transform the farmland in Lifton into a "stunning park that offers a plethora of activities both on and off newly dug lakes". The couple settled back at the farm, which has been in Mel's family for a couple of generations, with their four children, spaniel and three cats after moving around for years for Ed's service in the British Army. It continued: "Picture this: a cozy café, scenic walking paths, and communal areas nestled alongside exhilarating water-based activities like swimming, paddle-boarding, wakeboarding, and an aqua park."

Mel told The Express: “We’re excited to have reached this huge milestone with the submission of our planning application.
"This project has always been about more than outdoor adventure — it’s about supporting local families, strengthening local businesses, and creating inclusive experiences for everyone."
Plans include two aqua parks - a smaller one for juniors and a larger one for teens and adults - which will be next to a lake for open-water activities like paddle boarding, wakeboarding, and swimming.
Visitors can explore local wildlife through walking paths near the River Tamar, and children will have access to a free children’s play area.
To create a sense of community, there will also be a clubhouse with a cafe, work hub and multi-use space, which will be wooden clad in an agricultural style to reflect the region's roots.

The park would run either side of the A30, with the attractions to the south of the road, and a free car park to the north.
The planning application is still in its early stages, and the couple have asked for feedback from the community and local businesses.
They hope the first season will be the summer of 2026.
